The Administration on Aging (AoA) is excited to announce this year's SMP Regional Trainings! These trainings will be led with a theme of Volunteerism • Vision • Vigilance and will be located as follows:
Region I-IV: Charleston, SC, August 24-26, 2010 (register by Aug. 16)
Region V-VII: Kansas City, MO, August 3-5, 2010 (register by July 26)
Region VIII-X: Scottsdale, AZ, September 21-23, 2010 (register by Sept. 13)
The conference will showcase exemplary SMP outreach practices, recognize outstanding SMP volunteers, provide tools to achieve excellence and much more.
As in the past, AoA's purpose for hosting regional SMP trainings is to provide current information, share new ideas and successful practices, discuss new SMP program initiatives and directions, and recognize the work of the 54 statewide SMPs and the National Hispanic SMP. After 13 years experience as a national network empowering seniors to prevent health care fraud, error and abuse, there is much to celebrate and much yet to accomplish.
The 2010 Regional SMP Trainings will offer an opportunity to review those core values and practices that define the SMP program, while also honoring the creativity that provides local and regional flavor to each project.
Registration
All SMPs should attend, with up to three participants per SMP program. The training budget is based on an average of three participants per SMP program. If you are hoping to register more than three participants, please contact the Administration on Aging to obtain special permission at conference@smpconference.org or 301-588-6800.
